FISCAL RESPONSIBILIY
- Disciplined Budgeting, Earned & maintained AAA county credit rating, highest possible, from Standard & Poor’s & Moody’s Picture Below
- 2nd lowest county property tax rate of the 7-metro counties and 7th lowest of all 87 MN counties
- County will have the 2nd lowest county property tax levy per person of all 87 MN counties (2026)
- Significantly reduced the amount of outstanding county debt over the last ten years
LAW ENFORCEMENT
- Supported Sheriff’s successful effort to retain patrol deputies, 911 staff, correctional officers and Reduce Serious Crime Pictures Below
- Improved systems used by County Attorney and Sheriff’s Office to utilize and manage evidence
- Created drug take back program administered by the County Sheriff’s Office
- Implemented innovative dosage probation program, lowering reoffending of those on probation
- Supported creation of a human trafficking task force by County Attorney and Sheriff Offices
MENTAL HEALTH
- Established crisis response unit to better handle mental health concerns for adults and juveniles
- Established a co-response model where social workers are paired with law enforcement
ENVIRONMENT
- Reducing landfills - Began offering curbside pickup of food scraps (2025)
- Significant improvements to Recycling and Energy Center in Newport to effectively process trash
- Climate Action Plan being Developed

- Opened Northern Environmental Center in Forest Lake serving northern half of County (2025)
- Expanded the county’s Septic System loan program

ROADS & BRIDGES
- Secured MNDOT comprehensive review of Century Avenue at Hwy 36 Intersection (2025)
- Completed construction of the Manning Avenue at Hwy 36 interchange
- Secured funding for a Lake Elmo Avenue at Hwy 36 Interchange, construction starting in (2026)
- Addition of the new 4th Street Bridge over Hwy 694
- Addition of the new Bielenberg/Helmo Bridge over Hwy 94
- Major Improvements to the 10th Street bridge over Hwy 694
- Road improvements to County Road 13 (Ideal Ave/Olson Lake Trail) Picture Below
- Improvements to Hwy 244 (now County Road 12) from Century Avenue to Stillwater Road
- Improving pavement condition rating of county roads, reducing long-term costs to reconstruct
- Completion of the Hadley Avenue at Hwy 36 interchange
SERVICES

- Provided essential financial assistance to individuals and businesses impacted by COVID-19
- Reinstated funding for the 4H and the University of Minnesota Extension programming
- Improved data security for all county businesses and implemented multi-factor authentication and an active anti-phishing training program to better protect county data and systems
- Improved voting access and security for both election day and absentee/early voting
CAPITAL INVESTMENTS
- Major renovation completed at Public Works North Shop in Stillwater Township
- New Wildwood Library rebuild and reopening (2020)
- Major remodel to the Valley Branch library

HOUSING

- Major investments in affordable and senior housing throughout the county, including the Picadilly Square development, The Glen at Valley Creek & Blue Stem Apartments
PARKS
- Major Park improvements to Lake Elmo, Big Marine, and St. Croix Bluffs – all Regional Parks Pictures Below
- Significant expansion in the bike and pedestrian trail system throughout the county
- Development of the Nordic Center at Lake Elmo Regional Park and groomed, lighted winter trails
- County partnered with Woodbury on newly remodeled Central Park
